About ChonkHub

ChonkHub is the homeowner’s advocate for Cook County property tax. We show you the assessment math on your own home, then help you file your own appeal — and you keep 100% of what you save.

What is ChonkHub?

ChonkHub is a Cook County, Illinois property-tax self-appeal service. It analyzes your home against comparable properties, builds a ready-to-file evidence packet, and walks you through filing your own appeal on the county’s free official portals. The property owner is the petitioner who files and controls the appeal — ChonkHub is not your agent and does not appear before any county authority on your behalf.

How is it different from other appeal services?

Contingency-fee services take a percentage of your first-year savings — often 25% to 50% — every year they represent you, and keep their methods opaque. ChonkHub charges a one-time $49.15 to build your packet. You file it yourself on the free county portal and keep every dollar the appeal saves, this year and every year after. No percentage, no subscription, no middleman.

Where does ChonkHub operate?

Cook County, Illinois — the Cook County Assessor and the Cook County Board of Review. Our data comes from the public assessment roll and the county’s own appeal-decision records.

Do I need a lawyer to use ChonkHub?

If you own your home individually, no. If your property is owned by a corporation, LLC, or trust, the Board of Review generally requires representation by a licensed attorney — ChonkHub will tell you when that applies to your property and point you to counsel rather than have you self-file.
